iDEAL is a Dutch interbank system for online banking

Important: The important information about Ideal is that in the VTEX payment method configuration step, you will find two payment methods when you search for Ideal. Please select “Ideal V3". After that follow the steps detailed in the Configuring the Payment Provider in VTEX

Business Rules​

Payment Flow​

  1. The customer selects iDEAL as the payment method at checkout.
  2. The system displays a list of participating banks for the customer to choose from.
  3. The customer is redirected to their banking environment for authentication and payment approval.
  4. The bank confirms the transaction, and iDEAL sends a webhook to the connector.
  5. The connector approves the payment and updates VTEX.

Specific Rules​

  • Capture: Always immediate, with no configurable capture window.
  • Refund: Allowed in partial or full amounts, depending on the issuing bank's rules.
  • Cancellation: Not possible after payment completion.
  • Availability: Only for customers with bank accounts in Dutch banks that participate in iDEAL.
  • Confirmation Time: Typically occurs within seconds, ensuring fast transactions.
